About me:

With nearly 23 years of teaching experience, I'm a dedicated educator and a busy mother of three. My teaching journey began at Westcliff High School for Boys in 2000, where I eventually became the youngest and first female Head of English in 2006.

After a brief hiatus following the birth of my second child, I realized my passion for teaching was too strong to stay away. I held various roles, including KS5 coordinator at an outstanding comprehensive, and English Curriculum Lead for a SCITT run by Southend High School for Girls. Currently, I serve as Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning at Southchurch High School, where I'm committed to fostering quality teaching practices.

My career has been driven by a passion for ensuring every child receives an outstanding learning experience. As an outstanding teacher myself, I've mentored colleagues and trained aspiring educators, instilling in them the same dedication to excellence. My expertise spans across KS3, KS4, and KS5, where I've successfully supported students of all abilities.

Joining the Eureka team in January 2018, I've played a key role in revamping the English SKE course, crafting engaging content to inspire my tutees. It's a privilege to share my enthusiasm for English language and literature with aspiring teachers and witness their growth throughout the course.

Outside of work and family, I'm an avid performer and traveller. I've spent many years performing with local amateur dramatic groups and currently lead a charity band with friends. As an English teacher and voracious reader, I cherish moments spent immersed in literature, finding solace and inspiration in the written word.
