Qualifications:
With 24 years of teaching experience under my belt, I've had the privilege of working in three large comprehensive schools. Early in my career, I assumed the role of subject lead for Religious Education (RE), a position that ignited my passion for the subject. Over the years, I've served as subject lead in two schools, relishing the opportunity to prepare and deliver engaging content to my students.
RE is a captivating and multifaceted subject, offering endless opportunities for students to explore new ideas and perspectives on faith. Through my role as a teacher and my experience working with exam boards during marking seasons, I've gained valuable insights into structuring answers and meeting the expectations of assessment criteria.
One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching RE is its capacity to foster critical thinking and ethical exploration among students. It empowers them to develop their own beliefs and cultivate a sense of self-awareness.
Beyond the classroom, I've been actively involved in scouting, leading Beavers and now working with Explorers. This involvement has provided me with opportunities to explore the outdoors and stay physically active, offering a refreshing balance to the demands of teaching. I'm also passionate about creativity and enjoy crafting, particularly during the challenges of the Covid era, where I honed my crochet skills and embraced new creative pursuits.
As a self-proclaimed "potter head," I firmly believe in the importance of hobbies and interests outside of work, allowing individuals to unwind and recharge
